Muchin History

The Muchin Scholar will be an intrinsically motivated, well-rounded, socially responsible college graduate.

Muchin College Prep was founded in 2009 in the heart of the Chicago Loop. Since its founding, Muchin has welcomed scholars from all around the city of Chicago. Our scholars engage in rigorous curriculum that prepares them for success in college and beyond. In addition to our rigorous curriculum, we focus on character education.

Our scholars are expected to be ambassadors inside and outside of school. We expect them to seamlessly transition into the career of their choosing as they grow into adulthood. We are devoted to teaching our scholars integrity and professionalism. Our main goal is to prepare all scholars to graduate from the college of their choice and to go on to lead productive lives.

Muchin College Prep was made possible by the generosity of our naming donors, Allan and Elaine Muchin. Mr. Muchin is Chairman Emeritus of Katten Muchin and Rosenman LLP.  Mr. Muchin and his family donate their time in various capacities, and they have also generously given resources to enhance the student experience at MCP.   Mr. Muchin joined Noble's Board of Directors in 2009 and is a very active and engaged leader as Chairman of the Board. His guidance has helped Noble become Chicago's highest performing non-selective high school.

A generous gift from Michael and Karyn Lutz funded biology labs at Noble's Pritzker College Prep and Rauner College Prep campuses. The science labs at Muchin College Prep were made possible by the Lutz Family's gift and named in Mr. Lutz's honor and memory in 2009.
